A triketone herbicide which inhibits the enzyme p-hydroxyphenyl-pyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD), disrupting carotenoid biosynthesis. This process leads to the destruction of chlorophyll, resulting in a bleaching effect in susceptible plants. SABRE 48 SC is intended for preemergence, and post emergence use for the selective control of annual broadleaf weeds.
