A systematic, highly selective post-emergent herbicide for the control of grasses and broadleaf weeds in corn and sugarcane. Its mode of action is the inhibition of the enzyme 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (4-HPPD) that control carotenoid biosynthesis. Consequently, degradation of chlorophyl causes chlorosis, albinism, and necrosis in susceptible plants.
